David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian musician whose mission as an entertainer is to utilize music to alter how the world perceives Africa.
He claimed that he is trying to challenge the perception that Africa is a civilizationally backward continent among the western world by using his music.
In his conversation with Travel Noire, Davido related a childhood incident that inspired him to promote Nigeria and the African continent positively.
He described his childhood in America and the times he had to go back and forth, but it astounded white folks who questioned how Africans traveled abroad.
The singer of “IF” claimed that when people inquired about his mode of transportation, he told them that he flew, and they expressed disbelief that airports existed in African nations.
