The death of his colleague was verified by Emeka Rollas, president of the Nigerian Actors Guild.
He had a stroke for a while, which had been handled, but regrettably, he passed away at two in the morning today, according to Rollas.
The actor, who was affectionately referred to by his coworkers as Daddy Sam, began his career in finance before deciding to pursue acting.
Ibiwari Etuk has written him a note describing how she drove past his house and prayed for him just eight months after he went away.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress wrote, “I drove by your house this morning, stopped and said a prayer. Keep resting well Daddy Sam. God is God and he knows all.”
Obiago started acting in Nollywood movies in 2013 and had risen to be one of the star actors in the Nigerian movie industry.
He was Bilingual (French and English) and often played the role of Kings, fatherly roles in movies.
He often starred alongside the likes of Zubby Michael, Ken Erics, Regina Daniels, Yul Edochie, Chika Ike, Destiny Etiko, Chizzy Alichi and Rachael Okonkwo.
