Keep this “don’t you know me” attitude to yourself. – Regarding police harassment, Yul Edochie criticizes BNXN Buju

Actor Yul Edochie of Nollywood claims that no Nigerian police officer has ever assaulted him.

This was announced by the controversial director via his Twitter account, where he stated that humility is the key to a great road trip free of any harassment from men in uniform.

He wrote: “I do road trips a lot, I’ve met so many policemen on the road & they’ve never harassed me before. The secret is humility.

All that ‘don’t you know me’ attitude, keep it aside. You’re a citizen just like everyone else.

Once you humble yourself na policemen go hail you pass.”

This comes after Ben Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, said that Daniel Benson, a singer populary known by his stage name BNXN Buju , would be disciplined for attacking a police officer.

The artist was seen fighting with Nigerian police officers in a video that circulated on Twitter on Wednesday.

BNXN, formerly known as Buju, disclosed in since-deleted tweets that he had been involved in a dispute with the police, which resulted in his spitting on an officer.

“Spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged and tear my shirt, and start slapping me? (Sic) Nah, everybody must stop!” he wrote in the deleted post.

Reacting to the incident, Hundeyin stated via Twitter that the police officers will be punished if found guilty of misconduct.

Sharing pictures of BNXN’s tweet, he also maintained that the singer will “surely” face the law for assaulting a police officer.

“@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet.

“The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer,” Hundeyin tweeted on Wednesday.
